Hi everyone! April here from Home Sweet Homestead, and I get the fun responsibility of picking this week's featured posts. You all don't make it easy either!

First up is 10 Little Red Riding Hood Crafts from The Treasured Bookshelf. Don't just read your child this classic book, bring it to life by making props that help you tell the story! Definitely trying this with my grandchildren.

Pressure cookers have made a big comeback in recent years, and are becoming quite popular in the cooking world. Reviews, Chews, and How-To's shares their tasty recipe for Pressure Cooker Adobo Chicken. They even cook the rice in the pressure cooker too!

And last but not least, are these good ole Southern Fried Chicken Livers from Julia's Simply Southern. I never did care for chicken livers much, but found out after enjoying them at a friends house one day, that it wasn't the food itself I didn't like, it was the way it was prepared. Once you've tried these crispy fried bites, I think you'll agree too!

Thanks to everyone who linked up last week! I can't wait to see what everyone links up this week! :)

Zucchini Tips

  • No need to peel zucchini, shred it skin and all to use in recipes. The color adds a beautiful touch to the finished product. (The only exception is if the zucchini is old, and has developed a tough skin).
  • Zucchini should be stored in the vegetable drawer of your refrigerator, and will last 3-5 days. Leave zucchini loose, or store in a paper sack. Plastic bags can trap moisture and make the skin slimy.
  • Zucchini can be shredded and frozen for later use. Once thawed it will have a lot of water, so squeeze the water out before adding it to your recipes.

This Week’s Featured Posts

Allison from The PinterTest Kitchen here, and I had the fun job of picking this week's featured posts. This is a tough job, because we get so many amazing entries every week!

Let's start off this week with a Strawberry Ice Cream recipe from Creamish. Here in Virginia, the weather is finally starting to cool off, but it is always the right temperature for ice cream, am I right? Especially ice cream that looks this good!

Strawberry Ice Cream

Next up, I can't wait to try this Red Pepper Tapenade from Little House Big Alaska. I love recipes like this that look super fancy, but are easy to make with ingredients you already have in our pantry. Plus... red pepper! YUM! What's not to love?

Red Pepper Tapenade

Finally, fall is just around the corner, so check out these 5 Essential Fall Farmhouse Decorating Elements from Welsh Design Studio. I especially love her tips about using white pumpkins. My house has a beach theme and is decorated in cool colors like blue and purple, so traditional fall decorations don't really match. I use a lot of white pumpkins and leaves in my fall decorating and love the new tips!
