Family Pizza and Movie Night

Saturday nights are family pizza and movie night at our house. I used to make the same kinds every time, one loaded, and one cheese. When you eat pizza once a week though, you start craving a little variety. So I like switching it up now, and surprising my family with something different occasionally. Most of them have been successful, but a few not so much. So now when I try a new recipe, I always make a cheese version too, just in case.

Start off with my Perfect Homemade Pizza Crust, and Easy No-Cook Pizza Sauce, and build your pizzas!

Meat Lovers Pizza

Add assorted meats, such as cooked ground beef, Italian sausage, diced ham, bacon bits and pepperoni. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and just starting to brown.

Hawaiian Pizza

Add diced ham, pineapple tidbits, chopped red bell pepper, and bacon bits. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and just starting to brown.

Veggie Lovers

Use an assortment of fresh vegetables as your toppings, such as chopped cherry tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, onion, black olives, and mushrooms. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and just starting to brown.

Classic Cheese Pizza

Pile on the cheese! Make a classic cheese pizza with just mozzarella, or up the flavor factor by using an assortment of cheeses, such as Colby/jack, cheddar, provolone, and Parmesan. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and just starting to brown.

Margherita Pizza

Top with slices of fresh mozzarella and bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and just starting to brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh basil leaves that have been sliced into ribbons.

Chicken Enchilada Pizza

Instead of pizza sauce use Enchilada Sauce, then add shredded, cooked chicken that's been seasoned with cumin, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and black pepper, then top with chopped green onion, chopped cilantro, and shredded Mexican blend cheese. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and just starting to brown.

I hope you've enjoyed my line-up of pizzas. Check back occasionally, as I'll be adding more varities as I make them.

What's your favorite pizza?

  1. Glad y'all tried it. We love Pineapple pizza too. We used to buy it only at Domino's until I figured out how to make our own pizza dough, now we just make our favorites at home...on the cheap of course :)
