Pumpkin Spice Powdered Coffee Creamer

Rich and creamy Pumpkin Spice Powdered Coffee Creamer, just like the kind you buy from the store, but without all the preservatives and flavor enhancers they contain.

Do you hate shelling out $3 to $5 for a pumpkin spice latte at a coffee shop, or buying those flavored coffee creamers from the store, that are loaded with preservatives and unpronounceable additives? I sure did, but after experimenting with homemade liquid coffee creamers, I just wasn't satisfied with them, and missed my powdered coffee creamer.

But, those powdered creamers are loaded with hydrogenated oil and chemicals that I knew were bad for me. So I started experimenting and finally came up with a winner, a powdered coffee creamer that uses real ingredients, and can be adapted into different flavors.

I found out that what I was really missing was that creamy texture you get from store-bought powdered creamer, which I was able to replicate by using cornstarch. Cornstarch is a thickener, so it worked perfectly in giving my homemade creamer that creamy mouth feel I was missing in the liquid versions.

As I mentioned earlier you can adapt this recipe into different flavors, but today I'm going to show you how to make my favorite flavor at the moment, pumpkin spice. Creamy, rich, and just the right amount of pumpkin spice flavor, at a fraction of the cost of what you'd spend at a coffee shop. It's a delicious way to start your day on a Fall note.

Pumpkin Spice Powdered Coffee Creamer


1 cup whole milk powder
1/2 cup sugar, or to taste
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
2 teaspoons cornstarch (Arrowroot powder may be substituted)
1 teaspoon vanilla


Place the dry milk and vanilla in a bowl and stir together with a fork until blended.
Place milk and vanilla mixture in a blender, along with sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and cornstarch and process until powdery. (About 1 minute)
Transfer to an airtight container and store in a cool, dark place for up to 3 months.
