Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated it as such, and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. (Which is July 19 this year). So today (July 1) is the perfect time to share this round-up. Making your own is so much better than buying the kind sold in stores. You control what goes in it, so you know it's fresh, and free of unnecessary preservatives and chemicals.
All of the ice cream recipes featured here are dairy free, and while most of them can be made without an ice cream maker, some can not. I've even thrown in a sorbet to keep things interesting. :) Browse around and find some inspiration for your next ice cream making adventure, there is something for everyone. Happy Ice Cream Month!
