Chocolate Covered Cherries Hemp Protein Smoothie #Choctoberfest

Today marks my last recipe contribution for #Choctoberfest, an amazing virtual event I've been participating in this week, along with over 60 other bloggers. Smoothies are a favorite breakfast food for many people. They're quick, easy, delicious, and if done right, full of nutritious foods to fuel our bodies for the day. Like this smoothie, which contains Just Hemp Foods Hemp Protein Powder and spinach, two powerhouse foods. While all of us know how greens should be a part of a healthy diet, a lot of people don't care for them, including my 18 year old daughter. I've raised five children, and learned early on to pick my battles. And trust me when I say, that trying to force feed your child something they don't like, is not one of those battles. So what's a mother to do? We get a little sneaky, and pair those greens with something they DO enjoy, like chocolate.


Just Hemp Foods, starts with only the highest quality hemp seed for their products. They are selected for color, flavor, and overall quality, and processed in small batches, so their hemp products are guaranteed fresh, wholesome and delicious.

But my favorite ingredient of all in this smoothie, is the Just Hemp Foods Hemp Protein Powder. Chocolate Covered Cherries Hemp Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Just Hemp Foods Hemp Protein Powder
1 small frozen banana
1 cup frozen cherries
Large handful of spinach leaves
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoons powdered sugar or honey
Extra cherries for garnish

Directions

Place all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor, and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
Pour into a glass, top with a cherry or two and serve.

Makes 1 serving
