Welcome to day 2 of #CookoutWeek!
Whenever you have a cookout, while the star of the show is what's cooked on the grill, you still need side dishes to go with those grilled foods. With summer temps in the 80's and 90's though, you definitely don't want to heat the house up cooking and baking in the kitchen. That's where your trusty crockpot comes in handy. It's the perfect way to make these delicious BBQ Baked Beans, where a long, slow simmer brings out their best flavor. I also used a special ingredient, that really upped the ante, and added the most delicious hint of sweet heat, Jamaican Me Hungry Seasoning from Swine Dining.

My family enjoyed the flavor twist the seasoning added to the beans, and said it wouldn't hurt to even add a little more next time! Since it was so well liked, this yummy recipe will be made for all our cookouts this summer.

Easy Crockpot BBQ Baked Beans
2 - 16 ounce cans pork 'n beans
2 large green onions, chopped (1 medium sweet onion, diced, may be substituted)
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup BBQ sauce (Use your favorite brand)
1/4 - 1/3 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed (Depending on how sweet you like your baked beans. We like em sweet, so I added 1/3 cup)
3 slices cooked bacon, chopped into small pieces
1 teaspoon Swine Dining Jamaican Me Hungry Seasoning
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
In a large bowl place pork 'n beans, onion, molasses, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, bacon, Swine Dining Jamaican Me Hungry Seasoning, and salt.
Stir until combined, then pour into a crockpot and cook on high for two hours or low for four hours.
Turn crockpot off and remove lid. Allow the beans to cool for 15 minutes, stir well and serve.
Cooks Note: To make this recipe in the oven, pour bean mixture into an oven-proof baking dish, and bake uncovered at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
